Yes, the rumors are true. Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill has purchased my next two books. The first is a non-fiction diatribe tentatively titled "Candyfreak: A Journey Through the Chocolate Underbelly of America." It is about candy bars. For real. It will be published in Spring 2004. A sneak preview is coming soon. In Spring 2005, Algonquin will publish a second collection. So that's the future. The task at hand is pimping "My Life in Heavy Metal", which is now out in paperback.

A few folks have asked about getting signed copies, for themselves or as gifts for fellow perverts. Very doable. All you have to do is email me and I can send you a book plate — basically a sticker you can place in the book. (Remember that a signed copy increases the value of your book by at least 13 percent!)
